HOST INSTITUTION
The LFG 2002 Conference will be hosted by the Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Department of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA).  Its Greek name is "Politechnio". NTUA is the oldest and most prestigious educational institution of Greece in the field of technology, and has contributed unceasingly to the country's scientific, technical and economic development since its foundation in 1836. It is closely linked with Greece's struggle for independence, democracy and social progress.

The conference will take place at the historical campus, which is situated in the centre of Athens, about five minutes walk from Omonia square and next to the National Archaeological Museum. This campus has been in use since 1873. In the 80’s, the University moved to a new campus in the suburbs of Athens. The historical campus now accommodates the School of Architecture and certain administrative services. The historical campus now accommodates the School of Architecture and certain administrative bodies. Politechnio, which is located at the heart of the City of Athens, is a complex of buildings of national significance both because of its architectural beauty and its central role in the rather turbulent history of Modern Greece.
